Stephanie Davis is said to have finished her brief stint on Coronation Street, although a return for her character Courtney Vance could be in the cards for the future.
Stephanie, who shot to fame as Sinead O’Connor in the Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks, returned to acting after a three-year break when she joined Corrie earlier this year.
Stephanie's character Courtney certainly had a dramatic time on the cobbles, as she embarked on an affair with her husband's teenage assistant Aadi Alahan.
However, the pair's relationship came to an end with Courtney and her husband David Vance opting to give their marriage another go.
And it seems that in the wake of Courtney's infidelity, the couple may be waving goodbye to Weatherfield, just a few months after arriving.
Revealing Stephanie's departure from the soap, an source told The Sun: "Steph was over the moon to land a part on Corrie after things went so wrong on Hollyoaks and she had genuinely impressed with her work and commitment to the ITV soap.
"Naturally she’d hoped that maneater Courtney could stick around for a good few years but bosses feel like the story arc is complete – she’s not being killed off, though, so there’s no reason why Courtney couldn’t one day return and the door remains open to Steph."
OK! have contacted representatives for Stephanie Davis and Coronation Street for comment.
It comes after Stephanie opened up to OK! about her decision to return to the world of acting, and how she landed the coveted Corrie role.
Sharing that she had taken a break to spend more time with her son Caben, Stephanie told us: "I was in Hollyoaks for 10 years, but while I was working, I never got to see Caben.
"Those early years are so precious and I thought, ‘He needs his mum, I need to be there,’ so I took three or four years out.
"This year, I was sitting at home and I said to Joe, ‘I need to do what I love, I need to hear "rolling up" and "action".’ I was welling up, saying, ‘When I hear that, I’ll be back at home.'"
And revealing her Corrie audition process, Stephanie continued: "I looked at the brief and thought, 'This is meant to be, this is mine.'
"I did a self tape and said, ‘I’m making this the best self tape ever.’ So my mum, my best mate Cath and Joe all got involved. I got all dressed up and acted out each scene as if I was filming it.
"Joe played Aadi, Cath came in for different parts, and we spent the whole day doing it. Because I’m an actress, I was saying, ‘No, you don’t say it like that, you need to take a pause on that.’ They were laughing at me, saying, ‘Oh, here she goes, she’s back!’"
