Strictly breaks silence on Amy Dowden's cancer battle after she begged doctors for a quick return to the dancefloor | The Sun

STRICTLY Come Dancing bosses have broken their silence on Amy Dowden's cancer battle.

They spoke out after Amy Dowden, 32, revealed she'd begged doctors for a quick return to the dancefloor, refusing to rule out a return to this year's series.

Sarah James, the show's executive producer, said: “Amy is an exceptional person, both on and off the dance floor, and is adored by her entire Strictly Come Dancing family.

"Everyone on the show is sending Amy all our love and she knows that we are all here to support her, whenever she needs us.”

The 32-year-old was last week diagnosed with aggressive grade three breast cancer.

Within moments of being given the devastating test results, fiercely brave performer Amy asked the doctor: "How long until I’m back on the dance floor?'"
