STRICTLY Come Dancing has been moved from its Saturday night slot in a huge schedule shake-up on the BBC.

With the FIFA World Cup set to begin in Qatar in a matter of days, Beeb bosses have moved to make sure there are no awkward clashes with big games.

It means the Strictly quarter and semi finals will now air on a Friday night instead of Saturday.

BBC iPlayer has warned fans: "The quarter final of Strictly Come Dancing will now air live on Friday 2nd December and the semi-final will now air live on Sunday 11th December on BBC One and BBC iPlayer."

For the first time the football World Cup is being played in the winter instead of its usual summer billing.

The move has angered many fans and thrown a spanner in the works of the Premier League season which is having to break to accommodate the exodus of international players to the tournament.

Host Qatar's human rights record has also come under scrutiny. More than 6,000 migrant workers have died in the country since the decision to host the Cup their was made a decade ago.

The BBC scheduling rejig comes after Strictly was hit by new fix claims after a social media campaign to get Tony Adams into the final was revealed.

Despite former footballer Tony, 56, receiving regular negative feedback from the judges he and dance partner Katya Jones are winning when it comes to viewer votes.

Now it's been uncovered that an Arsenal forum with 100k users is responsible for getting Tony this far – and they're not stopping yet.

The group has plans to get Tony and Katya all the way to the final.

And with last year's winners Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice getting 55k public votes it's thought bosses are growing concerned that they could even win the show.

The organiser of the group told the Mail On Sunday: "Tony is our captain and our idol, and he needs us now, so we are asking all of our members to download their votes and use all three to get him to the final, and win."
