Strictly fans baffled as they hear audience member cheer as Kym is announced for dance off

Viewers of Strictly Come Dancing's Sunday night result's show were left baffled as they noticed an audience member cheering as singer and actress Kym Marsh was revealed to be in the bottom two, and therefore competing in the dreaded dance off.

Taking to Twitter, one viewer wrote: "did i just hear someone cheer for kym & graziano being in the dance off or am i going mad," followed by a skull emoji.

One tweet appeared to suggests that even if there were cheers it may have come as some misheard what was said, writing: "Sorry Tess could you say that again, I thought you said Kym and Graz, but surely not, they were so good!"

While Kym, 46, did win the judge's approval in the dance off, with Matt Goss being voted off the show instead, many fans still took to Twitter in disbelief that she was part of the bottom two.

"Oh no, Kym, you should be NOWHERE near the Dance Off. Just dance again how you did and I'm sure you'll be fine, you are a magnificent dancer with a real appreciation for technique," wrote one fan.

Another posted: "Nope, I still don’t understand why Kym & Graziano are in the dance off."

While a third wrote: "How on earth is Kym in the bottom two? I thought she did really well last night!"

However, while fans may have been shocked, former Strictly professional dancer James Jordan tweeted that the result was correct.

He said: "Correct result tonight but gutted for both of them for different reasons.

"Kym dropped quite a long way into the bottom 2 which never feels good – curse of the samba

"Matt – he finally let go and looked like he was enjoying it. I actually enjoyed his dance this week."

The somewhat controversial head judge Shirley Ballas, who has previously disagreed with her fellow judges’ decisions, actually was in agreement this week.

Revealing that she would have saved Kym and Graziano, Shirley said: "I also felt that both couples were 100 per cent committed, spot on performances today.

"But the couple with a little bit more technical skill was Kym and Graziano and that’s who I’d save."

Kym and other remaining celebrities will take to the dancefloor next when Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday 22nd October at 6.40pm for its BBC 100 Special, with the results show on Sunday 23rd October at 6:45pm on BBC One.
