On Saturday’s episode of Strictly Come Dancing, fans watched as the remaining stars took to the dancefloor in Blackpool for the first time in three years. Despite the first perfect score of this series being awarded, it looks as though professional dancer Gorka Márquez and Helen Skelton stole the show. But the Spanish-born hunk first locked lips with another pro on the show sending viewers into a frenzy.
This Saturday the infamous Blackpool week returned to Strictly Come Dancing after a three-year hiatus due to covid restrictions.
Due to the long break, the stakes were higher than ever as each celebrity wanted to impress judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke.
Although it was presenter Helen and her partner Gorka’s quickstep routine to the song Valerie that stole the show.
Especially after he decided to land a big kiss on dancer Cameron Lombard as part of their performance.
At the end of their routine, Helen cheekily pretended to ask her partner and Cameron to kiss her on the cheek.
Although as they went to do so, she ducked out of the way which meant Cameron and Gorka kissed on the lips instead.
Their fast-paced routine impressed the judges, who gave them a near-perfect score of 39, one away from getting a 40 which was given to Fleur East and Vito Coppola.
It wasn’t long before viewers watching took to social media to share their thoughts on the kiss in the routine as they couldn’t contain their excitement.
Mr_ChRiSsI_X said: “I wanna kiss Gorka!! #Strictly.
Phil Flynn added: “I would have done the kiss with Gorka for free #strictly”
“Omg that kiss at the end, so cute!” said Twitter user Escandrew47.
“Get in line because there is a group of men who want to kiss Gorka!” added NickFinn1985
SZecius Commented: “The dance is just awesome and spectacular …..and that kiss – The cherry on the top.”
Another couple who impressed viewers and the four judges were Fleur with her couples choice of a megamix of Destiny Child’s songs.
Getting 10s across the board, the duo received the first perfect score as they flew to the top of the leaderboard.
This weekend will see the return of the dance-off following a shocking exit last weekend with football legend Tony Adams quitting after he suffered an injury.
The celebrity was in the bottom two against radio host Tyler West and Dianne Buswell and was set to dance once again to fight for his place.
However, after sustaining an injury during the live show the 56-year-old decided it was best if he bowed out of the competition completely.
