Strictly fans left ‘sobbing’ over Jowita’s parents’ sweet show gesture for final

Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left "sobbing" on Saturday night over pro dancer Jowita Przystał's parents' sweet show gesture for the 2022 final.

After performing her first routine of the evening with celebrity dance partner Hamza Yassin, the duo headed over to speak to presenter Claudia Winkleman.

To which Claudia pointed out: "Jowita, your parents have flown from Poland to watch their little girl tonight" to which the camera panned to her parents in the audience as they proudly waved.

Getting emotional over her parents' support, Claudia added: "I didn't want them to make you cry, they are here all evening!"

Viewers were also left in tears at the sweet moment as they took to Twitter to admit they were "sobbing".

One person said: "Jowita’s parents have flown from Poland #strictly" followed with a sobbing GIF.

A different account put: "Jowita’s parents being there, i’m sobbing #strictly."

While another follower added: "Awwww, Jowita's parents are there #Strictly" with a heart emoji.


It comes as four couples – Fleur East and Vito Coppola, Hamza and Jowita, Molly Rainford and Carlos Gu, and Helen Skelton and Gorka Marquez – are hoping to lift the 2022 Glitterball Trophy on Saturday night.

Each of the finalists have topped the Strictly leaderboard at some point – Hamza five times, Fleur and Helen twice and Molly once – during their time on the show and will be fighting to win the most public votes on Saturday evening.

During the show, the four stars will all perform a routine chosen by the judges, their own favourite dance and finally a show dance.

Last year’s competition saw Rose Ayling-Ellis and Giovanni Pernice crowned the winners of the competition.
