Halloween week returned to Strictly Come Dancing as the contestants put on their scariest glad rags and performed their “spooky” routines. As well as the contestants, the judges also put on a display with their costumes, which included Shirley Ballas and Craig Revel Horwood embodying the roles of Gomez and Morticia Addams. However, under the masks, Motsi Mabuse continued to fuel the rumours of a feud behind the scenes after she rolled her eyes at Craig during the results show.
All four judges joined host Claudia Winkleman to give their overall verdicts of the dances at the weekend.
Claudia kicked off their conversation with Motsi and asked what she thought of Molly Rainford after she was in the dance-off the week before.
Molly and partner Carlos Gu performed the Argentine Tango to Running Up That Hill by Kate Bush, with Craig only giving their performance a score of six.
Claudia began: “Motsi, you gave them a nine, Craig gave them a six. Let’s be frank, who is correct?”
Motsi joked: “Who is correct, is that even a question?” whilst Craig sat at the other end of the bench and lifted his hand in the air.
Motsi continued: “This girl is a remarkable young, talented girl, and has such a coordinated body and knows how to use the energy in her body economically.
“She moved very fine and easy and is able to transmit the energy to everyone. She is just great.”
Turning to Craig, Claudia teased: “Yes, why a six? Were you unwell?”
Craig explained:” I think I explained myself, very, very well. The whole Argentine Tango is about the reaction and I felt it looked choreographed rather than improvised.
“And in order to make it look like a real Argentine Tango, it needs to have the ganchos, those kicks…” to which Motsi turned to Shirley and rolled her eyes at his comments.
Craig ended his explanation with: “That is my point, and I rest on it.”
This isn’t the first time that the pair have argued with each other and sparked rumours of a feud as just the night before Motsi branded her co-star a “diva”.
When giving his comments to Molly and Carlos on Saturday night, Motsi turned to Craig pointing and shouted: “Diva! Diva! What’s happening?”
Craig meanwhile shook his head and appeared bemused, before he went on and branded parts of their dance “ugly”.
After he had finished his criticism, Motsi exclaimed: “I don’t know what’s up with the boys, maybe it’s the costumes…”
This isn’t the first time that the word “diva” has been used by the judges to describe one another after Craig explained how “low-maintenance” he was compared to the other judges.
He told The Sun: “Motsi’s got six people in her dressing room doing the make-up, the lipstick, the eyes, the false eyelashes, her hair, her dress. She’s a diva.
“Whereas I have no one. I do my own. I do my own hair and make-up.”
Unfortunately for EastEnders star James Bye, his journey on Strictly came to an end as he was the latest contestant to be eliminated from the competition.
After performing the Charleston to Bumble Bee by LaVern Baker with partner Amy Dowden once again, the judges all decided to save Fleur East and Vito Coppola.
Strictly Come Dancing airs Saturday from 6:30pm on BBC One, followed by the results on Sunday.
