On Saturday night’s Strictly Come Dancing, the remaining couples took to the ballroom floor to celebrate 100 years of the BBC, dancing to iconic BBC theme tunes from the likes of EastEnders and Line of Duty. However, when it came to the results on Sunday night, viewers were left shocked after Molly Rainford and Jayde Adams landed in the dance-off. Many felt that Tony Adams deserved to be in the dance-off after landing at the bottom of the leaderboard with 19 points.

Both couples performed their routines again. Molly and her dance partner Carlos Gu performed their couple’s choice to the Grange Hill Theme Tune.

While Jayde Adams and her dance partner Karen Hauer performed their Charleston to The Ballad Of Barry and Freda (Let’s Do It).

After both couples had danced a second time, the judges delivered their verdicts.

All four judges chose to save Molly and Carlos, meaning Jayde and Karen were sent home.

Speaking about his decision, Craig Revel Horwood said: “Well two very different dances but based on technical ability alone I would like to save Molly and Carlos.”

Motsi Mabuse continued: “Well I thought you were both brilliant, I thought that both performances were better than Saturday night but I am going to save Molly and Carlos.”

Anton Du Beke added: “Well it’s terrible really. The dance-off is such a difficult place to find yourself, and it’s so disappointing and I thought both couples didn’t succumb to that disappointment and performed really really well.

“But just based on that performance, the couple I would like to save with a slightly more polished technique are Molly and Carlos.”

When asked about her time on the show, Jayde emotionally told Tess Daly: “This has been the best thing I have ever done in my life and I will carry it to my grave, and it has been an absolute pleasure working with you [Karen] and learning about so much that will go into my own stuff, in my own work.

“You are one of the most gifted people I have ever worked with Karen.

“And everyone on this show, said it to me, when I had you, they said, ‘You’ve got the best one’ sorry everyone, and I did and you are fantastic and this has been such an honour.”

Paying a sweet tribute to Karen, the comedian added: “Not only have I got to be on Strictly Come Dancing but I got to have Karen Hauer, you are amazing, thank you for everything!

“I’ve done shows before, and nothing holds a candle to the way that this show is run.

“It is an incredible thing to be a part of as a performer, we are so looked after, and in this industry where so many people aren’t looked after, this show is incredible, well-done everyone.”

However, viewers were less than impressed by the results, with many taking to social media to share their frustrations.

Nikkie raged: “How can this be right that they’re in the bottom 2 and the absolutely useless Tony sales through yet again?? Now tell me it’s not a fix. It’s a disgrace.” (sic)

Courtney fumed: “Oh look at that, two amazing dancers in the dance-off while Tony Adams will come back next week having the same feedback since WEEK 1! this is madness! #Strictly WHAT’S GOING ON? #StrictlyComeDancing2022.” (sic)

“Fix again! @bbcstrictly Tony Adams still in? Really?” Jill Lyons quizzed.

While Kelly said: “The theme failed the pros and celebs this week. A shame that Jayde went over the likes of Tony, her parting speech was lovely #strictly.”

“Jayde and Karen were robbed, this should have easily been a week where Tony should have gone,” @Wandoful raged.

User @BecauseICan2 added: “Jayde should have stayed, Tony should have gone. #Strictly is a popularity contest.”

Along with an angry-faced emoji, Alex simply tweeted: “Fix #Strictly.”

Liam wrote: “Right decision based on the dance off but JAYDE WAS ROBBED! Tony should’ve gone home #strictly.” (sic)

However, some viewers felt the judges made the right decision in sending Jayde home, with Caz tweeting: “As great as she has been, Jayde was the right person to go tonight. It was the weakest of all the routines, and of her own routines. I blame whoever choreographed it really!”

The remaining eleven couples will take to the dancefloor next when Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday at 6.50pm for its Halloween Special, with the results show on Sunday at 7:20pm on BBC One.
