Strictly sign up BBC radio star Nikita Kanda as ninth celeb in line-up | The Sun

STRICTLY Come Dancing has announced radio presenter Nikita Kanda as its ninth star for the 2023 series.

The BBC programme's social media accounts this morning revealed that the Asian Network's Breakfast Show host will be waltzing onto the dance-floor later in the year.

She was immediately welcomed by the show's pro dancers, with Graziano di Prima and Jowita Przystal both sharing their excitement in the Instagram comments.

Speaking on her radio show today, Nikita said: "I've got butterflies in my stomach right now. I'm literally like a kid at Christmas. It feels like Christmas Day. This moment is like a dream come true."

The bubbly radio star took over the Breakfast Show in January, two years after joining the Asian Network.

Speaking at the time, she said: ”It’s the only job that I have ever jumped out of bed at 4am for because I love radio. Every day is different – you never know what you’re going to get.
