As the Strictly Come Dancing semi-finalists prepare for the penultimate week, former Strictly contestant Peter Andre reflected on his time on the show in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk at the Pride of Britain Awards. The pop star was the ninth celebrity to be voted off Strictly in 2015 and was partnered with Janette Manrara.

The former Strictly star was asked who he was backing in this year’s competition.

Peter admitted: “I didn’t get to watch this year but you know Janette was my number one and she’s not dancing in it.”

On whether he would love to do Strictly again, he remarked: “I’m so glad I did it but I don’t want to do it again.

“I would love to go and present or be a judge, that I would love to do.”

Janette quit the BBC show in 2021 to take on a new role as co-host of Strictly spin-off It Takes Two.

The Ballroom and Latin dancer’s husband Aljaž Škorjanec followed suit and quit Strictly a year later ahead of the 2022 series.

The Strictly Come Dancing semi-finalists will get one step closer to lifting the Glitterball Trophy on Sunday.

BBC has changed its usual Saturday night schedule to avoid clashes with England’s World Cup clash with France.

The remaining contestants will perform two routines for the judges and viewers.

Strictly fans will find out on Monday night which couples have made it through to the Grand Final.

Fleur East and Vito Coppola will perform a Charleston to Tu Vuo Fa L’Americano’ by Fiorello and a Paso Doble to The Time Is Now by Moloko.

Meanwhile, Will Mellor and Nancy Xu will take to the floor with a Couple’s Choice and a Paso Doble.

Helen Skelton and Gorka Márquez will hope to sail through to the final with their Argentine Tango to Here Comes the Rain Again by Eurythmics and a Waltz to Only One Road by Celine Dion.

Countryfile cameraman Hamza Yassin and Jowita Przystal will perform a Charleston and a Waltz on Sunday.

Molly Ranford and Carlos Gu complete the line-up with a Paso Doble and an American Smooth.

Elsewhere, Kym Marsh became the tenth celebrity to be eliminated in the quarter-final.

She lost out to Molly in the dance-off although Anton Du Beke did opt to save the Coronation Street star.

Of her experience, Kym said: “Honestly I’ve loved every single second that I’ve been here. I never thought I’d get to this stage, in a million years.

“I have to say, it’s all down to this man [Graziano] here, he is just wonderful and he will be my friend forever.

“But what a journey it’s been, this show is just wonderful, it shows you things about yourself you don’t know, it shows you how tough you can be.

“Everybody, the crew, the celebs, the pros, costume, make up, everyone is amazing. I’ve had the best time, so thank you.”

Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One on Sunday at 7.15pm.
