Strictly Come Dancing star Adam Thomas has reveled that he had to go to hospital due to his ongoing battle with arthritis.
The 35-year-old actor, who played Adam Thomas in Emmerdale, told fans that he needed to undergo some medical tests following his rheumatoid arthritis diagnosis. He took to his Instagram Stories on Tuesday (October 10) with a selfie from the hospital room.
But he was staying positive despite his health struggles as he smiled in the snap and told fans he was "staying strong." Updating fans in his caption, he wrote: "One day I will get my arthritis under control but until then… more bloods and more doctors. Staying strong."

Adam's arm was wrapped in a tourniquet, and behind him was a table full of medical equipment. The soap star revealed his arthritis diagnosis back in August.
He told fans: "I’ve been in a lot of pain since January, it started with my knees and then traveled to my wrists, fingers and now ankles and toes. I never knew what was happening and finally after several blood tests and back and forth to doctors and hospitals, I’ve been diagnosed with rheumatoid Arthritis!

"I thought that was something people, later on in there life get… but that’s not the case, clearly! It’s been a tough old year but … Finally I’m on the right plan now! Finally getting it under control. For now! But some days are better than others and am not going to lie, it’s been hard not being able to train properly, it’s has had a huge knock on effect for me personally, but not only that for my family too!!"
He thanked his wife Caroline and their children for supporting him and admitted his journey has been "challenging and frustrating". Adam previously told Daily Star that his chronic condition had left him "unable to walk".
He said: "A couple of weeks ago, I couldn’t really walk, I couldn’t really do much. A couple of weeks ago I couldn't really walk or really do much, so to get to this point where I'm at now, I'm just so happy. I just want to get on the dancefloor, start dancing, moving. I'm just happy to be here and be able to do it."
Adam's condition causes pain, swelling and stiffness in the joints. He is partnered with show pro Luba Mushtuk, 33, on the BBC show.
