He is known for his crystal clean lifestyle both on and off screen as the new face of the Channel 5 Live news channel after leaving his BBC Breakfast days behind him.
But Dan Walker certainly shocked his loyal legion of fans after the star made an unfortunate NSFW typo while he shared his latest career update online.
And it’s fair to say the former Strictly Come Dancing star, 45, left his adoring fans in stitches as his accidental tweet soon started trending on the social media platform just hours later on Saturday morning (August 27).

The post discussed his excitement over his latest show alongside Michaela Strachan, titled Digging For Treasure, which searches for lost artefacts and valuable treasures lost over the centuries that launched on Channel 5 last week.
And it appears as though the show has been a huge hit with viewers so far, after the dad-of-three logged onto his Twitter account to boast about the show’s success when he made the hilarious typo.
He wrote: “Fantastic response for Dogging For Treasure last night and great figures!”
It seemed as though the TV presenter was completely oblivious that he had in fact typed “dogging” instead of “digging” online.
Dan continued: “Thanks for watching and for the feedback. We are filming again today – with a little less clapping – and celebrating with a snack of choice.
“See you next Friday at 9” he concluded alongside a sweet snap of him with his co-stars as they beamed to the camera while stood in a field.
It didn’t take long before his doting fans picked up on the awkward mishap as they flooded to the comments sections to tease the TV star online.
Dan was mocked so much, in fact, that ‘dogging’ started trending on Twitter in the UK as the hilarious post gained traction online.
One user chuckled: “One of the best tweets you’ve ever done” as another quipped: “I’m assuming this new series will be on late night pay per view?”
A third chimed in with: “Dogging For Treasure sounds like a whole different programme Dan!!”

And eagle-eyed viewers were quick to dig out a famous clip of his former co-star Carol Kirkwood on BBC News back in 2020, where she also made a ‘dogging’ blunder and became quite the internet meme.
“Greenwich Park is one of the oldest of the royal parks and look at it, the sun is beating down, we’ve seen lots of doggers – not doggers of course, lots of dog walkers” she giggled in the now viral clip.
But in true Dan style, the star saw the funny side of the awkward encounter and later clarified that he meant ‘digging’ with an embarrassed emoji.
He wrote: “Full apology has been accepted and I have offered my resignation,” as his co-host Michaela urged him to “spellcheck” next time.
