This week’s Strictly Come Dancing results show kicked off with a tribute to the Barbie movie but some fans of the BBC show were instantly left fuming.

As the female Strictly pro dancers opened the routine, Nadiya Bychkova was seen wearing a black and white stripy swimming costume and bright red lipstick instantly indicating she would now be playing Barbie.

Instead, Dianne Buswell transformed into the famous doll wearing a long blonde wig for the performance.

Nadiya was already snubbed from being paired with a celebrity in this year’s Strictly meaning she isn’t taking part in the competition.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Strictly fans wasted no time in sharing their frustrations about Naidya not playing the main role in tonight’s pro performance opposite Gorka Márquez as Ken.

Not holding back, @llemonkiss wrote: “Wowww they really don’t wanna let Nadiya have anything this season do they.. she’s literally Barbie, as much as I love Di #strictly,”

While @Padisla asked: “No hate but why is Diane #Barbie not Nadiya? #Strictly.”

@LPyndsey chimed in with: “Why did they make Diane Barbie when Nadiya was right there?! #Strictly.”

“We were really robbed of seeing queen Nadiya as Barbie. She would’ve slayed #strictly”, added @Evelynsmin.

“Great dance but Nadiya should have been lead Barbie #strictly”, stated @i71Sheriff.

Meanwhile, @liamandrews123 added: “I love Dianne but Nadiya deserved to be Barbie #strictly.”

Strictly Come Dancing airs live on BBC One every Saturday with the results show broadcast on Sunday.
