Strictly Come Dancing release trailer for new series
Strictly Come Dancing star Neil Jones has opened up about what it feels like to not be partnered with a celebrity as reports claim he will miss out for the second year running.
Neil waited three years after he first joined the show to be given a partner and was finally given his time to shine in 2019 when he and former footballer Alex Scott made the quarter-final.
It was another two-year wait until Neil was partnered with former EastEnders star Nina Wadia in 2021, but their journey was cut short when they were eliminated in the early rounds.
Whilst the official partners have not been revealed as of yet, a spoiler has claimed that Neil has once again missed out on having a partner, but he claims he doesn’t mind.
Speaking to Radio Times, he explained: “I think this is going to be my eighth series, and I’ve had two partners on the main show.

“I would honestly say to you, I love when I have a partner, and I love when I don’t have a partner.
“When you don’t have a partner, a lot of people think you just sit at home. But you really don’t.
“On Strictly, they make sure you’ve got plenty to do. We’re doing group numbers and music acts, we help out other pros.”
Neil is also expecting a baby with his girlfriend, former Love Island star Chyna Mills, and recently admitted that she is ready to give birth and could be the reason he will not compete.

Talking to OK! magazine about how they feel ahead of their first child together, he admitted: “Chyna wants to give birth now – she’s ready to go.
“We don’t know what’s going to happen but if it happens during a live show, we’re ready for that. It would be nice if it happened in a moment when I had a bit of time off but I’m really excited.
“I’ve got so many nieces and nephews already and the good thing is that we’ve had time to prepare for everything. Strictly is really supportive.”
Whilst Neil claims he is happy not having a partner, Nadiya Bychkova is reportedly feeling “crushed” that she “failed” to be paired.
A source reportedly told the Mirror: “Nadiya lives and breathes Strictly, and so to hear that she wouldn’t have a celebrity partner this year was crushing for her. She was both gutted and very, very angry.”
Strictly Come Dancing returns Saturday, September 16 from 6:35pm on BBC One.
