Strictlys Nigel Harman breaks down in tears days after withdrawing from show

Nigel gets tearful after watching the reel of his time on Strictly

Nigel Harman had to wipe away tears as he watched a reel of his time on Strictly Come Dancing following his early exit. Appearing on Monday’s It Takes Two, Nigel discussed having to withdraw from the competition ahead of Saturday’s live show.

Having made it all the way to week 11, Nigel was heartbroken that an injury meant he could no longer compete, and for the BBC show this meant no elimination took place over the weekend.

The Casualty actor and his dance partner Katya Jones chatted to host Fleur East on the spin-off show to reflect on their time in the series, where they were shown an emotional montage of their journey in the series.

Nigel was left visibly emotional as the clip ended and Katya comforted him. He also admitted he was “still in pain” following his injury.

As the clip ended, Nigel had his hands to his face after becoming tearful.

“Nigel, how much pride do you have watching all of that back?” Fleur asked.

“Feels like a fairytale, it feels like a dream,” he commented.

The former EastEnders heartthrob went on: “There’s a lot of dances there that I’m quite proud of. I’m really very moved by it all.

Turning to Katya, he enthused: “And the amount of work that you have done there, that’s a testament just in that little clip.

“It’s just extraordinary, I just can’t imagine doing any of this with anyone else, so I feel very blessed.”

Katya placed her head on Nigel’s shoulder as he thanked her.

When asked by FLEur where Nigel had improved most over the weeks, Katya replied: “Do you know what, I think what you actually every week reminded me of was that it’s not a technical competition – we are here to light up every Saturday night for everyone to watch, to deliver entertainment, to enjoy ourselves, to tell stories and to love what we do.”

Earlier, Nigel explained that he was “still in quite a bit of pain” and felt strange not rehearsing for the show after waking up.

Strictly – It Takes Two airs weekdays from 6.30pm on BBC Two.
