Strictly Come Dancing recruit Will Mellor admitted it felt like a “kick in the teeth” to receive scathing critiques for his underwhelming performance with Nancy Xiu.
The Coronation Street star was previously declared as one of the top favourites to win by bookies up and down the country.
But the actor recently found himself towards the bottom of the leaderboard after he failed to impress judges with his performance on the BBC One dance competition.

In a recent interview, the 46-year-old actor opened up about his biggest pet peeve that he absolutely can’t stand about performing on the beloved reality show.
The dad-of-two admitted to the Independent that the one thing he hates most about the show is the tough criticism which has been a sore point for him recently.
Before he suffered a bout of viral illness last week, Will surprised viewers with a disappointing performance which left the judges feeling underwhelmed.
The dancing duo performed a routine to the tune of Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift’s The Joker and The Queen, which was dedicated to his late dad.
Looking back at his performance, the Two Pints of Lager star admitted their comments felt like a “kick in the teeth”.
He told the publication: “I was a bit annoyed by it, to be honest, because I was struggling and when you’re that way you feel a bit sorry for yourself.
“When I got the scores I was a bit like, ‘After all that…?!” as he pointed out indignantly: “I got a four from Craig [Revel-Horwood]!
“That’s up to them [but] maybe I shouldn’t have [danced], because the judges slagged me of – I should’ve just left it!”
He opened up about the sore subject further when he appeared on It Takes Two with his professional dance partner earlier this week.
Will candidly explained: “I find being criticised by the judges hard. I find being criticised hard as a person.
“Some people can let it go over them, but I find it hard to hide my emotions. You know how I'm feeling and I can’t help that.”

The TV hunk added that he was left crushed and “disappointed” after failing to wow them with his dance moves on the weekend, where he plummeted to the “second to the bottom” position on the leaderboard.
In an interview with MailOnline, he admitted: “I tried my best but we are there to be judged so I have to take the rough with the smooth.
“It wasn’t easy to take, especially because I wasn’t feeling well.”
