Suki's murder secret in EastEnders pushes her to the edge as twist is exposed

Suki Panesar (Balvinder Sopal) is one of six Walford women set to be caught up in a murder in EastEnders this Christmas.

The dramatic aftermath was revealed in a flash-forward episode on Monday February 20: the first of its kind on the BBC soap.

As of yet, we have no idea who the murder victim is, or who will wield the weapon that will ultimately kill him.

Present in the scene alongside Suki were Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), Linda Carter (Kellie Bright), Stacey Slater (Lacey Turner), Kathy Beale (Gillian Taylforth) and Denise Fox (Diane Parish).

Of the six women, any one (or more) of them could be the killer.

It seems as though Suki’s involvement in the crime will end up driving her to the edge, according to show producer Chris Clenshaw.

‘Suki’s struggling in her marriage with Nish and is desperately trying to convince herself that she doesn’t have feelings for Eve’, he teased.

‘As the year progresses, Suki will uncover truths, have her relationships tested but ultimately her biggest secret could push her to the extreme.’

While Suki struggles with her involvement, actress Balvinder Sopal is honoured to be working on this story alongside some EastEnders ‘legends’.

‘I mean they are legends, and like I say it’s a real honour and privilege to work with women that have been on the show for such a long time who are strong, powerful, exciting, beautiful, fiery women who carry the show’, she said of the other five women who’s characters are caught up in the murder.

‘And to be a part of that yourself – it’s really great to be included with icons like that. So, I’m really looking forward to how it all pans out.’

As for who ends up dead, Balvinder is completely in the dark.

‘There’s so many people. I think it could have been any one of the six women involved, they’ve all got a motive. I would like it to be Suki, because I think it adds an extra dangerous element to her but who knows.’

‘In terms of who meets their fate, it could literally be anyone’, she teased.

‘I think it could be Keanu (Danny Walters), it could be Rocky (Brian Conley), it could be Nish (Navin Chowdhry), it could be somebody who hasn’t been in the show for a long time, it could be somebody new who comes in. And I think maybe all of the women might be involved.’

So, it sounds like no one is safe…
