Sunday Brunchs Tim Lovejoy forced to apologise as guest swears

Sunday Brunch apologises as Billy Porter ‘swears’

Sunday Brunch presenter Tim Lovejoy was forced to apologise to viewers at home after Billy Porter swore live on air.

Introducing a new segment to their show, Tim asked the panel if they had ever been to Brighton, where Seann Walsh grew up.

As Suggs, Louise Brealey and Emeli Sandé all put their hands up, Tim awarded Seann three points just for them visiting Brighton.

Billy soon realised that he wasn’t going to get any points from them after he grew up in Pittsburgh America.

Outrages at the rules, he shouted: “He gets the points for somebody knowing the area? What in the hell! That’s b******s!” before Tim quickly turned to the camera and apologised.

“I have to apologise for the language…You’re not allowed to use that word on TV.”

Confused, Billy asked: “Am I not? Is that a bad word?” to which Tim reiterated: “No, I apologise,” before swiftly moving on.

Seann jumped in and joked: “We are trying to get their new show commissioned and you’ve got it axed before it has even started!”

Viewers of the show quickly picked up the innocent mistake and took to their X accounts, formerly known as Twitter, to comment.

When being introduced to the show, Tim explained that despite it being Seann’s fifth time on the show, it was Billy’s first.

Billy admitted he had never seen the show before, leaving Tim to ask Seann to explain the concept of the show.

Being the comedian he is, Seann joked: “Well, it kind of goes on and on and on… it should be called Sunday breakfast, lunch and dinner, but the food is great.”

Sunday Brunch airs Sunday from 9:30pm on Channel 4.
