GMB: Ed Balls tells Susanna Reid to 'sort yourself out'
A new survey has found there is overwhelming support for licence plate recognition technology to be used on fast food packaging to combat littering.
This would involved companies printing the licence plate number onto the packaging of food bought at the drive-through.
If a customer then threw that out of the window and onto the roadside, they’d be tracked and forced to pay a fine.
Good Morning Britain hosts Susanna Reid and Ed Balls were divided over whether this would help stop litter louts.
Susanna believed having more bins available would help but Ed insisted people should just take their rubbish home.
However, his co-star insisted fines work as they helped reduce the amount of dog poo being left on paths.

Ed remarked: “It’s not because of barcodes, it’s because something changed in which we..”
“Was it because of not fines? I suspect it was,” Susanna hit back.
Ed continued: “Did dog fining change it? I think it’s more people like you walking down the pavement saying, ‘Excuse me, look what your dog just did.
“Have you got a bag?’ And you would say, ‘There’s no bin.’ Take it home!”

Susanna moaned: “I wish I could have an impact on bins. Please can we have more bins?
“The reason we don’t have bins on my road is because people leave too much rubbish next to them.”
Ed hit back: “That’s like saying there should be a police officer on every street. Sort yourself out!”
The comment took Susanna by surprise, as she remarked: “That would be good as well. Can we put that on my manifesto?”
GMB viewers were divided as @Matthew45106337 posted: “This is not the answer, why aren’t we putting on pressure on all food and drink suppliers to reduce their packaging, take KFC as an example, you buy a meal, it comes in a box, you open the box, then the burger is in another box, chips are in its own package, gravy in another, poor.”
@tillyftts asked: “Name and reg number on packaging? What about Data Protection?”
@jenstirling955 complained: “Where I live it’s not more bins we need it’s the bins emptied they are overflowing then the crows /seagulls drag rubbish out.”
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV from 6am.
