Heartstopper stars tease season two of Netflix series
Taylor Swift played a big part in the season finale of Netflix’s hit LGBTQ+ romantic dramedy series, Heartstopper.
Although she wasn’t there physically, the pop icon made her presence known after one of her hit songs was played during a pivotal season two finale scene.
The scene in question sees a romantic moment between key characters Tara (played by Kizzy Edgell) and Darcy (Corinna Brown).
Dacy finally builds up the courage to tell Tara “I love you,” after Tara explains her home life doesn’t change how she feels about her.
At the peak of the scene Taylor’s Grammy wintering track, Seven, from her 2020 Folklore album, plays in the background – truly setting the tone for the special moment between the two characters.

Heartstopper’s creator, Alice Oseman, thought that the song would be the perfect fit to underscore the climatic point for the sweethearts’ storyline, Netflix reports.
With that in mind, executive producer Patrick Walters wrote to Taylor’s team to describe the big scene and how they thought Seven would add great significance to it.
Luckily for Alice and Patrick, the Bad Blood singer happily jumped on board and cleared not only the song for use but a Folklore poster that eagle-eyed fans may have spotted in Tara’s bedroom in Episode seven.
And it turns out the production team’s choice to use Taylor’s song to backtrack Tara and Darcy’s moment need up being a big his with fans too.

Taking to Twitter, Swiftie and Heartstopper viewer @swiftsoot gushed: “My favourite taylor swift song in Heartstopper is actually something I never knew I needed.”
As a second fan, @SWIFTS0S13 wrote: “The way I started crying when Taylor started playing in the background of Heartstopper.”
Another user @KaylaRecords penned: “TAYLOR SWIFT SEVEN PLAYING IN THE LAST EPISODE OF HEARTSTOPPER,” followed by several crying face emojis.
@4theloveofSimon was thrilled to hear Seven play in the finale scene, adding: “Taylor Swift in heartstopper omg omg.”
“Seven by Taylor Swift being on the heartstopper s2 soundtrack made my day I didn’t think it could get any better after the folklore poster in Tara’s room,” @iris28_iicf shared.
While @redcipher01 noted: “I love that they included Seven by Taylor Swift in the Heartstopper season two soundtrack.
“It was so beautiful hearing it in correspondence with the scene,” they added.
