In the hour-long show, she revealed she had undergone a full hysterectomy as well as removing both her ovaries at the age of 40.

Now, Sarah is facing further surgery options after her doctor recommended that she undergo stoma surgery which removes part of her large intestine that will then protrude outside of the body with her waste collected in a bag on her stomach.

She told the experts: “Sometimes it can be explosive diarrhoea, sometimes I can’t pass the movement”.

It was at this point one doctor asked: “Sensitive question: do you ever use your finger to go into the bottom to relieve the stool?”

Sarah admitted: “Yes, yes so I do, and also on the outside where my perineum is – the part between the vagina and the anus – because I can sometimes feel the stool sometimes misdirecting.

“So it’s almost like guiding it to where it needs to come. It sometimes feels like it’s going towards the vagina, coming towards forwards rather than backwards and out.”

Following her consultation, the patient was advised to slowly introduced more carbohydrates back into her diet and even returned to her weekly yoga classes to help build up her core muscles again.

Six weeks after her appointment, Sarah revealed that she has been suffering significantly less bloating flare ups after introducing a cleaner diet and a more structured exercise routine.

The star caught up with her physicians once again where she revealed that she has even indulged in a bowl of chips and started doing nightly exercised to help keep her bowels moving regularly throughout the day.

She gushed: “I no longer feel like I'm hurtling towards this stoma operation and I've finally got my life back.”

Sarah has now set her eyes on new heights after she revealed her plans to climb Mount Everest next year.
