FANS of The Chase were left blushing after learning the "hilarious" unknown name of a body part during a recent episode.

Monday evening's episode of the ITV quiz show saw Bernie, John, Layla and Viv join forces to take on one of the country's finest brains.

But soon into the episode, viewers at home were left shocked at one of the questions, after hearing a relatively unknown human anatomy revelation.

As Bernie, a 70-year-old retired business consultant from Surrey, took on Jenny in his head-to-head, he was tasked with identifying a body part known as a weenus.

The answer was an elbow, as fans went on to learn that the term is a slang word for the excess or loose skin at the joint of your elbow, which is technically referred to as olecranal skin.

Fans immediately took to Twitter to announce their google search results – and were stunned at what they found.

Alongside an array of shocked-faced emojis, one person penned: "It seems likely that weenus is a play on the medical term penis and its slang variant wiener. Hilarious.

Echoing their comments, someone else said: "A weenes. Now I know what it means. I would like to take this moment to thank The Chase for educating me."

While a third remarked: "I bet there's loads of people Googling weenus right now, isn't there?"

The bizarre question follows host Bradley Walsh slamming the show's "tough questions" in a three-pronged fiery rant.

Bradley struggled with the challenging nature of the questions on a recent episode and, on several occasions, he critiqued them as "hard" and "tough."
