The Chase star Shaun Wallace has admitted he would have taken part in Strictly Come Dancing if he had been asked to do it ten years ago. The 63-year-old suffers from Arthritis in his knees so wouldn’t be able to compete on the BBC show now, but would have loved to have been involved earlier.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, Shaun explained: “I couldn’t do it now, but if they asked me to do it ten years ago, I’d have done it.” Despite not being able to take part in the iconic show, the ITV star is keen on fitness and is regularly uploading videos of himself working out for his 46,900 followers to see on Instagram.

He explained: “Fitness to me is very, very important, I think everybody needs to make an investment in terms of physical and mental wellbeing. I train every single morning so I keep myself physically fit.

“The worst thing about training is the thought of doing it. Just do it. Don’t think of it as a chore, don’t think of it as a laborious burden. Think of it as something you want to do because you’re making that investment and you’ll enjoy it.”

Shaun has been playing as The Dark Destroyer on The Chase since the quiz show began with series one back in 2009. The barrister is one out of six Chasers that star on the hit show, with Bradley Walsh hosting the daytime programme.

The television personality recently starred in adult pantomime Jack and His Giant Bigstalk where he starred as himself for one night only.

Speaking about why he took part, Shaun explained: “I like to support charities, to try and use my fame and try to raise awareness for whatever charities really need it.

“The Terrence Higgins Trust has been going on for a long, long time but no charity can get enough publicity or awareness.”
