Known as The Governess on the ITV show The Chase, Anne Hegerty has become an integral part of the team. She first joined the show back in 2010, slowly becoming a fan favourite throughout her time. She recently opened up on her relationship with host Bradley Walsh, branding him a “legendary presenter.”

Over the years, Anne has seen an array of contestants come and go, an abundance of questions asked and thousands of pounds won.

However, when speaking to Express.co.uk, Anne admitted her favourite thing about being on the show was working alongside Bradley.

Touching on their relationship, Anne paid a tribute to her co-star, explaining: “Oh I have too many favourite things. Possibly working with Brad.

“He is just this legendary presenter, and he is just such a nice guy, all the Chasers have such a nice rapport with him.”

She added: “But also the fact that it is a job that I can do. It is sort of tailor-made for me and I can earn a decent living just by doing a few hours of work every day, which is brilliant.

“So yeah it suits me down to a tea. I always say, any time that I am filming for The Chase, the actual filming for the chase is the easy part of my day and everything else is more difficult so yeah, I absolutely love it.”

Co-star Darragh Ennis, who joined the show in 2020 also had high praises for the presenting star, as he said: “Oh it is so much fun!

“You know when you were in school and there was the kid that your mother told you not to sit beside, that was Brad, as a grown-up, he is like a giant child.

“He is just so much fun, I know there are some people on TV who have the character they adopt, but that is not him at all.

“He is that person and he is just having a laugh and it is so much easier to work with someone like that, I love having a laugh and making fun of each other.”

Since her rise to popularity with members of the public, Anne has gone on to take part in shows such as I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, DNA Journey and Cooking with the Stars.

She recently admitted that she would love to follow in the footsteps of Bradley, and show off her acting skills.

She told The Sun: “I would love to do things that would give me the chance to act or to sing or to be funny.

“He [Bradley] absolutely loves, loves, loves doing that. I’d love to do that [show], I’d be Ma Larkin’s snotty sister. Or mum.

“I’d love to play Bradley’s mother-in-law!”

Anne also fronted the quiz show Britain’s Brightest Family in 2018 and successfully ran the show for two series, including two celebrity editions.

However, the series isn’t likely to return as Anne gives an update on its future.

She explained to The Sun: “I don’t think it is. Most game shows don’t manage more than two series.

“I had two series of that and two of the celeb version so you know, I had a decent run.”

The Chase airs weekdays from 5pm on ITV.
