Loveable gameshow host Bradley Walsh was seen throwing his hand up in the air after realizing hilarious name gag on Thursday’s episode of The Chase (August 17).

The 63-year-old front man was seen welcoming players Ginger, Roger, Fred, Alistair to battle it out against chaser Jenny Ryan, aka the Vixen, in a bid to win a cash prize.

Whilst the audience at home quickly picked up on the subtle gag in their names, which together are a nod to Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, it took Brad a while to catch on.

One fan said: “Their names! If you know you know.”

Another penned: “notice the names today on Chase? Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire,” followed by several laughing emojis.

“Great names today…well played,” a third added, while a fourth echoed: “The Researcher / Casting Producer who did this deserves a raise…”

As first player Alistair took his turn against Jenny and managed to bank £7k for the prize pot – Brad began ushering him back to his spot on the podium.

Only then, approximately 15 minutes into the episode and having introduced all the players to viewers at him, did he suddenly spot to gag.

“OH!” he started shouting over and over as he threw his hands in the air.

“Hold the line caller!” he shouted, as jenny said: “He’s got it.”

    “I’ve got it!” he continued.

“Ginger Rogers, Fred Astaire. I’ve got it! Wow that’s great. Excellent.”
