The Equalizer’s latest dramatic season came to a close earlier this year and luckily, the wait has only been a matter of months. Queen Latifah is reprising her role as Robyn McCall along with the rest of the main CBS cast for series three. Here’s everything there is to know about the return of The Equalizer.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from The Equalizer.

What time will The Equalizer season 3 return?

The Equalizer season three will be making its debut on Sunday, October 2, at 8.30pm ET.

This won’t be the permanent time slot for the rest of the series as it is just for the special premiere episode.

The follow-up episodes in season three are instead going to come out at the slightly earlier time of 8pm ET/PT.

The instalments are also going to be available to watch on these platforms after the latest episode has aired on CBS.

As of yet, there has been no word of a series three release date for those fans in the UK.

Season one came out on Sky Witness six months after its initial USA release date and the second outing began four months later.

So it is safe to say that The Equalizer season three most likely won’t come out in the UK until early 2023.

Season two ended on a major cliffhanger after Robyn McCall (played by Queen Latifah), Vi (Lorraine Toussaint) and Delilah (Laya DeLeon Hayes) were driving when they were hit by another car.

Two assailants then showed up and rushed Robyn out of the vehicle, put a hood over her head and threw her into the back of an SVU.

Vi and Delilah weren’t able to stop them as they were still disorientated following the crash.

So season three is expected to begin with the Equalizer team trying to save their leader.

The first episode is called Boom and the synopsis has been released ahead of the show.

It reads: “McCall’s family and vigilante life continue to crumble as those closest to her must come together for the first time to save her.”

Details have also come out for episode two which is going to be released on Sunday, October 9.

The description for Where There’s Smoke says: “The team helps an NYFD firefighter’s daughter when her father suddenly goes missing.

“Also, Aunt Vi and Delilah continue to cope after McCall’s abduction.”

Thankfully, the future is already looking bright for The Equalizer on CBS.

The network renewed the drama for not only season three but series four back in May 2022.

So there will be plenty more adventures to come from McCall and the rest of the gang.

The Equalizer season 3 premieres on Sunday, October 2, in the USA. A UK release date hasn’t been announced.
