The Fall of the House of Usher has released this week and subscribers are already keen to know if there is going to be more to come.

The Netflix horror drama follows the tale of ruthless twins Roderick (played by Bruce Greenwood) and Madeline (Mary McDonnell) Usher who built their Fortunato pharmaceutical company through any means necessary in order to get to the top.

However, everything starts to crumble around them when their heirs mysteriously start to die, one by one, leaving everyone in a state of panic.

But will the Ushers be able to figure out what is happening to their family and put a stop to it before they are all killed?

With the eight-part series released in one go ahead of Halloween later this month, fans are eager to know if there will be another series to get excited about.

Will there be another series of The Fall of the House of Usher?

The Fall of the House of Usher has come out today, Thursday, October 12, on Netflix, with subscribers eager to know if there will be a future for the show.

Sadly, a spokesperson from Netflix told Express.co.uk: “House of Usher is a limited series”, meaning there won’t be anymore episodes to look forward to.

The Fall comes from Mike Flanagan, the creator behind Netflix’s Haunting anthology series which consists of The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor.

So while the story of the Usher family won’t be followed up, Flanagan could turn The Fall into the start of another anthology.

Both Hill House and Bly Manor are based on historical books of the same name, authored by Shirley Jackson and Henry James respectively.

The plot of The Fall was also reworked from a novel, based on Edgar Allan Poe’s 1839 short story but infused with a freaky twist and references to some of his other tales.

So if Flanagan is looking to create another anthology series, he has plenty of content from Poe and various other iconic storytellers.

Last year, Flanagan himself couldn’t help but praise The Fall for being “wild” and “colourful”.

He told The Wrap: “It’s crazy. It is unlike anything I’ve ever done, but in the other direction.

“My favourite way to describe it to people is like Hill House is kind of a string quartet, and Bly Manor is this delicate, kind of beautiful piece of classical piano music, and The Fall of the House of Usher is heavy metal. It’s rock and roll.

“It’s wild. It is colourful and dark and blood-soaked and wicked and funny, and aggressive and scary and hilarious.”

The Fall of the House of Usher is available to watch on Netflix.
