The Masked Singer UK reveals new line-up of characters for series four with show twist

The Masked Singer UK has revealed its new line-up for series four with characters such as Jacket Potato, Jellyfish and Otter competing on the show.

ITV has also confirmed that there will be a new twist on the hit singing series which will see the competition's first-ever duo on the programme.

The Masked Singer UK sees celebrities conceal their identities under a dramatic costume and give cryptic clues about their lives before singing on stage, it is hosted by Joel Dommett.

Viewers and the star-studded judging panel – Davina McCall, Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross and Mo Gilligan – have to guess who is underneath the mask with one character asked to unveil their identity each week.

The Masked Singer UK has now given a first look at the 2023 series and revealed the 12 new characters who will be performing each week in a bid to be crowned the winner with Cat and Mouse the first-ever duo on the show.

FAWN

They were Fawn to be wild – it's Fawn!

JACKET POTATO

Their singing is sure to butter you up – it's Jacket Potato!

PIECE OF CAKE

Could this be history in the baking – it's Piece of Cake!

PIGEON

It must be dove – it's Pigeon!

RHINO

They were horn this way – it's Rhino!

RUBBISH

There's no time to waste – it's Rubbish!

CAT & MOUSE

They’re feline good – it's Cat and Mouse!

GHOST

Ghouls just want to have fun – it's Ghost!

JELLYFISH

They only sing when they're stinging – it's Jellyfish!

KNITTING

Leaving the competition in knots – it's Knitting!

OTTER

Ready to blow us all out the water – it's Otter!

PHOENIX

This bird's on fire – it's Phoenix!

Teasing any new elements on the show, host Joel said: "Yeah, we've got some theme weeks, which were some of my most favourite shows, just because it makes it easier to write funny links, because you've got a theme.

"It's a good place to start from, makes it more ridiculous! But yeah, it's just the same as usual, but a step further. I think that's what we seem to be doing each time; we're making it more ridiculous, more fun. And, of course, you've got different reveals, so every season is going to feel different."

The Masked Singer starts on 1st January at 6.30pm ITV1 and ITVX.
