The Traitors came to an end on Thursday, and with the new BBC show proving a hit with viewers, many of them had plenty to say after the dramatic final episode. The Traitors centred around a game of intense deception and after weeks, it was finally revealed who the remaining traitors were. Luckily for remaining faithfuls Hannah Byczkowski, Aaron Evans and Meryl William, Kieran made it clear Wilf wasn’t to be trusted, and fans spotted another hidden clue.

In the final episode of The Traitors, the only ones who weren’t faithfuls were Wilf and Kieran, with Kieran having switched from faithful to traitor after being forced to in the previous episode.

Wilf managed to turn his fellow contestants against Kieran, who was banished during an intense roundtable.

He decided to provide a subtle warning to the remaining players that Wilf was a traitor though, which ultimately paid off and led to the 28-year-old being banished.

As Claudia Winkleman asked who he had voted for, Kieran remarked: “Parting gift,” as he revealed Wilf’s name.

The comment left the remaining faithfuls suspicious of Wilf, who passionately defended himself.

However, viewers also noticed a less obvious sign Kieran aimed at Hannah to secretly inform her about Wilf’s deception.

Many noticed how Kieran gave Hannah a meaningful look.

As he stood up to declare he was in fact a traitor before leaving the show, he stared at Hannah before his eyes briefly darted towards Wilf and back.

Prior to this, Hannah had been convinced Wilf was a faithful, going as far as saying she would “bet her life” on it.

Following Kieran’s clues, she decided to turn against Wilf and he was banished during one last vote-off.

Several took to social media to point out the cryptic exchange.

Twitter user @ronnief71 wrote: “Did Kieran just gave a sly look at Wilf – Did Hannah pick up on it though? Please I hope she did!! #TheTraitors.”

@pokemon_paul added: “OMG I didn’t clock on to the eyes Kieran gives to Hannah to look at Wilf!!! A nation thanks you Kieran! #TheTraitors.”

@Blaizeeex posted: “This bit right here… I screamedddd he literally told Hannah with his eyes he didn’t even need to say anything else.”

@MarkAdamWeston penned: “It baffles me that so many people seem to have missed that he did this. THIS WAS THE WHOLE CATALYST.”

@CarolSTilly shared: “I saw it any it was really annoying and felt unfair on Wilf. He’d played an amazing game and this scuppered it all for him.” (sic)

In a tearful outburst, Wilf tried to save his reputation as a fake faithful.

“I am a faithful,” he kept repeating. Becoming emotional, he added he wouldn’t speak to his teammates again if they stopped him from winning a share of the money.

In the final decision, the contestants had to choose whether the game should be over or whether they thought someone else could be a traitor, meaning another vote-off was needed.

Both Wilf and Meryl opted to end the game, while Aaron and Hannah believed there was another traitor among them.

This led to one final vote-off in which Wilf’s true identity was revealed.

The Traitors is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
