The Voice blind auditions are well underway and this weekend another batch of talent will take to the stage to impress the judges. Sir Tom Jones, Olly Murs, Anne Marie and Will.i.am are back on the judging panel as they compete against each other to find the best singers and rappers in the UK.

However, speaking in an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk and other press, the 2002 hitmaker and her co-star Olly opened up about what it’s like working on the show.

Olly has been a judge since 2017, while Anne Marie joined last year when she replaced Meghan Trainor.

Speaking ahead of the latest series, Olly and Anne Marie opened up about the backlash they receive about their appearance on the show.

The Troublemaker pop star even admitted when he watches himself back, he criticises the way he looks.

“I know I am going to watch it back and think, ‘Cor, I look so fat on camera’,” he said.

Anne Marie also recalled a recent experience when she met someone at a holiday park, who also commented on her weight.

“I met someone at a holiday park the other week with my parents,” Anne Marie chipped in: “And I was sitting in the thing doing bingo and this man goes, ‘It’s true what they say, you do add pounds on the TV, don’t you?’

Referencing the backlash about their appearance, Olly went on to admit: “It is something we get a lot.

“I have had that as well, ‘Oh, TV does put pounds on you’.

Last year, Anne Marie rose to victory against her fellow judges after her act Craig Eddie won the competition.

The 32-year-old also opened up about her own music career and how she seeks advice from pal Ed Sheeran,

“I feel like he’s kind of been through it all,” she said. “So every time I feel down or like I’m having a situation with a certain thing, I just ask him straight away, I feel like he has the answers.”

Sharing a key piece of advice from Shape of You hitmaker, Anne Marie added: “He would say stuff like, ‘Stay in contact with your parents, like call your parents’.

“I forget sometimes that I’m telling everyone on social media what’s going on, and I haven’t even told my mum and dad.”

Praising Ed, Anne Marie said: “He’s a great person to have around.”

This weekend, Olly and Anne Marie will be back in their chairs to watch another set of hopeful singers perform.

The judging panel get to select eight people on their teams, which is when they will battle it out against each other.

Each week, the celebrities will have to whittle their teams down as they reach the final.

Speaking about some changes to the ITV show, Olly admitted: “There are no live shows this year.”

The Voice returns on Saturday at 8pm on ITV.
