This Morning: Christine Lampard returns to hosting duties
This Morning fans were quick to react as Loose Women’s Christine Lampard joined Dermot O’Leary to present Monday’s This Morning. Christine was among the latest presenters to join the ITV magazine show.
This Morning is currently using a rotation of different presenters, but with regular Josie Gibson in Australia having just finished taking part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, others have had to step in.
The installment opened with Dermot giving Christine a warm welcome. “Wow, hello everyone and welcome to a new week on This Morning,” he announced.
“And let it be my pleasure and privilege to say welcome back to Christine Lampard.”
“Thank you! thank you very much, everybody,” Christine replied.

She explained: “They said, ‘Would you like to spend the morning with Dermot?’ and I said, ‘Yes!’ I said ‘Of course I would!’
“So here I am, so thank you, it’s lovely to see you.”
“So nice to see you, when was the last time you did this?” Dermot asked.
“Oh it must be nine, ten years ago maybe? And it’s not my usual timeslot, it’s either early or Loose Women – this is like… a bit odd,” Christine replied.

“How do you feel?” Dermot asked, to which the Loose Women star responded: “Very nice, it’s very festive in here, more Christmas trees than the rest of us!”
Christine presented This Morning between 2013 and 2016 but hasn’t fronted the show in a long time.
However, many fans were unhappy with yet another change to the This Morning hosts.
Taking to X, many expressed that they missed “consistency” on the show.
@eudanassis penned: “Another unprecedented duo on TM: Dermot O’Leary will share command of the ITV1 morning show with Christine Lampard.”
@SusanWi39997708 added: “Think Emma & Rylan are the best guest hosts – they should be full time on this morning.”
“I’m getting fed up with TM making changes with the different presenters which feels like every day nearly, I’m just going to enter the Spin to Win game and watch films on either Netflix, Disney+ or Amazon Prime instead,” @londonlad1966 wrote.
@ZoeSomebody asked: “When will we have permanent presenters? I need consistency.”
@gangster_ram shared: “Now ITV are really ruining it. Should be Alison and Dermot Monday to Friday, Josie and Ryan or Craig in half term holidays etc.”
@MSTJ2411 simply wrote: “Unexpected,” but others were pleased to see Christine back on the show.
@paulpresenteruk added: “Much better presenters! Looking forward to this.”
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
