This Morning fans rally round ‘incredibly strong’ Vanessa Feltz on heartbreak call in

This Morning fans praised Vanessa Feltz for being "incredibly strong" on Wednesday's episode of the ITV chat show as she discussed her split and hosted a heartbreak call in.

During the latest instalment, the presenter, 60, gave a candid TV interview after her shock split from fiancé Ben Ofoedu after 16 years.

And later, Vanessa hosted a call in for broken hearts, revealing she would be offering advice and also looking for advice herself from callers.

Viewers were quick to praise the star for being "incredibly strong" as one person tweeted: "Vanessa Feltz has been incredibly strong in speaking out about her break up during the opening moments of #ThisMorning."

A different account put: "Oh huge hugs to dear Vanessa Feltz. Good on her that she is going to keep strong after her split from Ben. Lovely lady Xxxxx #ThisMorning."

Another follower wrote: "Stay strong Vanessa #ThisMorning."

While a different viewer added: "@VanessaOnAir I have to say how incredibly brave and inspiring on #ThisMorning today. I wish you all the best."

It comes as Vanessa confirmed her split over the weekend with Ben breaking his silence earlier this week.

Speaking on Wednesday, Vanessa said: "I think I'm feeling just like anyone else would after the end of a 16 year relationship, which I had my heart and soul in.

"I believed wholeheartedly in it and so when you have to end a relationship, it is very hard. I'm feeling it just like anybody else."

Vanessa admitted she "can't sleep at all" but was grateful for everyone's support and messages, which she reads in the "middle of the night".

The star, who said being heartbroken is "horrible", admitted: "People have been amazing, absolutely amazing, and of course it helps a lot as I can't sleep at all so reading thousands and thousands of messages from lovely people on Instagram is something to do in the middle of the night.

"I'm really finding my real friends, my real family, people I don't know."

Vanessa added: "I'm not alone and also, I've been through it before it's not like I'm a stranger to this stuff. I've already had a horrible divorce, so it's quite familiar this awful feeling.

"But I'm absolutely not going to let it grind me down, I'm just not, however I feel inside, I'm not going to put it on the outside."

Vanessa, who said she's trying to "look on the bright side", added: "I've said I feel sad, I feel hurt, which I do, and I said I feel terribly humiliated, which lots of people have said you shouldn't.

"I think that's quite helpful, to believe in your own relationship isn't stupid."

Prior to Ben, who she met in 2005, Vanessa was married to ex-husband Michael Kurer from 1983 to 2000. They share daughters Allegra and Saskia.

This Morning continues on weekdays at 10am on ITV.
