This Morning is set for another presenter shake-up with Emma Willis joining Rylan on the sofa.

TV favourite Rylan is already part of the rotating cast of presenters the ITV show has lined up since the departure of long-term hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield. And next week will see him team up with former Big Brother pal Emma.

The show confirmed on Instagram that the pair will host the daytime programme on Monday (4 December). And they are then set to stay all week.

Rylan and Emma are good friends after working together on Big Brother shows such as spin-off Big Brother’s Bit On The Side. This year they also got together for a gruelling Comic Relief challenge, trekking between Braemar and Cairn Gorm in the Scottish Highlands over four days.

Rylan’s upcoming This Morning return will delight fans, who have been calling for him to be made a permanent host for a while. Viewers were thrilled earlier this month when he did a presenting stint with Cat Deeley, with many saying he was “a joy” to watch and others demanding he be made full-time. This Morning has seen a lot of change since Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby exited after hosting the show together for close to 14 years.

The pair used to present throughout the week, with Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary taking over on Fridays. But Phil left in May after admitting to having an affair with a younger colleague, which he described as “unwise but not illegal”. And then a few months later Holly followed suit.

The mum-of-three stepped down in October after a man was charged in relation to an alleged plot to kidnap and murder her. At the time she said on Instagram that it was a "difficult goodbye" but that she'd made the decision "for me and my family".

Since then ITV has not announced permanent replacements, but has a carousel of TV stars doing slots on the sofa. Away from the cameras, Emma is married to Busted singer Matt Willis, who also won I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2006.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 10am
