Rylan Clarke purchases classic Big Brother diary room chair

Rylan Clark returned to This Morning on Monday morning alongside Josie Gibson – but viewers had mixed opinions about the former Big Brother star presenting for the week.

As the show titles finished, Rylan introduced the show and said: “Good morning and welcome to Monday’s This Morning.”

Josie added: “And a big big big welcome back to you Rylan, welcome home!” to which he teased: “It is so nice to see everyone.

“I mean I didn’t really go anywhere I was just hiding the cupboard, just downstairs! Gyles Brandreth found me last night and said ‘Come on’. I went ‘Oh alright I’ll come back’.”

Taking to their X accounts, formerly known as Twitter, fans seemed to all say the same thing about Rylan’s return.

@UKTVForever noted: “TwitterX Petition @Rylan to become the full-time presenter permanently #ThisMorning.”

Gm4nHere praised: “Good to see Rylan back on @thismorning Welcome back #thismorning.”

@Jordon_22 expressed: “Lovely to see @Rylan is back on @thismorning #thismorning.” (sic)

However, not all viewers were glad to see Rylan back as @H0ochy exclaimed: “Oh… Rylan NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO PLEASE WHY???? #thismorning.”

@jake31329 fumed: “HELP WHY IS RYLAN CLARK HOSTING THIS MORNING #thismorning.”

@avraam2000 penned: “Surprised to see Rylan back on #ThisMorning after such a long time.” (sic)

Before kicking off the show, Josie asked how Rylan’s mum Linda was doing after she suffered an accident and had to be airlifted to hospital.

He explained: “Mummy is good, she is doing really good. Thank you everyone for all your lovely messages as well.

“She is really really good, she is watching today, hello Linda! But yeah she is hobbling about in a little leg brace, she is doing alright.

“We had to get a private plane home which sounds very glamorous but when she is being air lifted into it… I did video it and took the mick out of her.

“She is really good though and I know she is watching today!”

Rylan was last seen on the show presenting a year ago alongside Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes.

This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV1 and ITVX.
