Tom Parker's wife breaks down in tears as clip of her late husband plays at NTAs | The Sun

TOM Parker's wife Kelsey broke down in tears as a clip of her late husband played at the National Television Awards.

The Wanted star Tom has sadly died aged 33 on March 30 2022 after a brave battle with brain cancer.

Last night his documentary, Inside My Head, was nominated in the Best Authored Documentary category.

The 1 hour and 30 minute episode missed out after Kate Garraway's Caring for Derek was announced as the winner.

As footage of Inside My Head played out on the big screen, Kelsey was seen getting very emotional.

The clip saw Tom manage to do what he loves the most – performing on stage – just weeks before he passed away.

Earlier on in the day, Kelsey took to her Instagram Story to tell fans she was feeling "so emotional".

She said: "I don't know why I did it this morning, but I sat there and looked through all of Tom's reels.

"I don't know why I just did that to myself and literally, I am an emotional wreck this morning and I just can't stop crying.

"I'm trying not to cry right now.

"I just think with obviously the NTAs today and you know even with it being postponed, I think it's a long time coming.

"I just feel overwhelmed by everything.

"I feel overwhelmed I'm going to have to walk to the red carpet on my own, this is the first time I'm going to have to do this without him."

She added: "I think it's just the build up to everything and the day has come. Whether we win or don't win, I am so proud of how far we have come."

Tom was diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour in 2020 and given just 18 months to live.

But brave Tom beat the odds after undergoing several gruelling rounds of chemotherapy and 30 radiotherapy sessions.

The star had been undergoing treatment in Spain that meant he was forced to pull out of the start of the boyband's UK tour.

But he did make an appearance at the later dates where he performed while sitting on a throne.

He bravely spoke about his fear of death in a heartbreaking Channel 4 documentary, Tom Parker: Inside My Head.
