This Morning chef Clodagh McKenna has gushed over Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield’s coverage of Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral following their recent ‘queue-jumping’ scandal.
During Tuesday’s visit to the ITV studios, the co-hosts opened the show with a short segment dedicated to the late monarch following her funeral yesterday (September 19).
Over the weekend, the two presenters were slammed since footage emerged of them appearing to bypass the regular queue for exclusive VIP access to Her Majesty’s coffin in Westminster Hall.

In an attempt to rectify the public's view of the presenting duo, secret royal family member Clodagh – who is married to The Honourable Harry Herbet, the grandson of The Earl Carnarvon – praised them for their coverage at the end of the show.
She gushed: “We want to say thank you to you guys too because last week it was like a comfort blanket watching you guys every day.
“And what you’ve done last week – the coverage was just incredible so well done.”
Despite her well wishes, the presenters still faced a flood of backlash online from viewers up and down the country.
It comes after their first broadcast since the incident, the mum-of-three, 41, addressed the criticism they faced from angered fans online.
She said: “We were given official permission to access the hall, it was strictly for the purpose of reporting on the event for millions of people in the UK who haven’t been able to visit Westminster in person.
“The rules were that we would be quickly escorted around the edges to a platform at the back, in contrast, those paying respects walked along a carpeted area beside the coffin and were given time to pause.
“We, of course, respected those rules – however, we realise that it may have looked like something else and therefore, we totally understand the reaction.”

It appears as though their scandal has even gone on to grab the attention of popular pizza takeaway company Dominos after they posted a scathing tweet following the show.
They wrote: "Apologies to anyone waiting for their pizza, we've just received an order from Holly and Phil #ThisMorning."
