Vile rapist Craig uses Samson to torment Lydia in Emmerdale

Craig (Ben Addis) cornered Lydia (Karen Blick) and raped her, leaving her not only traumatised, but then tried to gaslight her into thinking it was her fault. She reminded him she’d said no and he told her it was all in her head. Now the evil rapist is set to take one step further and use her own stepson as a weapon against her in Emmerdale, but it’s the straw that’ll break the camel’s back.

Craig wormed his way back into Lydia’s life in the first place by using emotional manipulation over baby Toby. He used his ‘grief’ as a way to get close to her, instigating several ‘near-kiss’ scenarios when he got inappropriately close. In a devastating turn of events, he took advantage of this close connection to get her alone and rape her. He then tried to make her believe she’d asked for it.

His pure evil doesn’t stop there. Sam (James Hooton) and Lydia’s marriage has become strained since this horror happened – with Sam still none the wiser – meanwhile Craig is plotting his next move.

Sam desperately tries to reconcile with Lydia before he leaves for Ireland, but she just cannot give him what he needs. She is crumbling inside while Sam feels she’s pushing him away.

While Lydia is avoiding him, cunning Craig still has a hold on unwitting Samson. He uses Samson as a means to spike the tension for the Dingles. He fires questions at him about Lydia’s relationship with Sam and when Lydia finds the pair together having a drink in the Woolpack, she is beside herself. Riddled with anguish she snaps and forces Samson to return home.

Samson rails on Lydia for telling him to keep away from Craig when all he sees is the future Craig can give him. Mandy (Lisa Riley) senses something is wrong with Lydia and grows concerned.

She’s right to be worried as Lydia’s ordeal is far from over. Having been unable to go through with speaking to the police, Lydia finds herself alone in the office when Craig shows up.

He grows aggressive in insisting he did nothing wrong, but he pushes Lydia to boiling point and she snaps, branding the dirty pig a racist.

Is Craig set to get his comeuppance?
