TENNESSEE news anchor Cornelia Nicholson was left stunned after realising her bosses had tricked her into reading a report about herself.
While anchoring Tennessee’s Local 3 News, broadcaster Cornelia unknowingly introduced her own proposal on live TV.
Initially, Cornelia thought she was introducing another story, but she quickly cottoned on to the ploy. Visibly shocked, she started launching as she said: “Coming up now, we have the story of two young journalists who just so happened to find love in the same industry.”
Cornelia nervously introduced her boyfriend Riley Nagal, who arrived in the studio to give a “special report” while pictures of them together played on the screen behind her.
However, once she saw him, she couldn’t help but smile.
Riley, who is also a news reporter, said: “That is right Cornelia, I do have a very special report for people at home who maybe don’t know.

“Cornelia and I met in news back in Montana at our news station almost four years ago.
“And when I first met you, I was very drawn to you.”
Cornelia blushed as her boyfriend gushed about her on live TV.
“You have such an amazing personality, and you’re so bright and always light up the room when you come in and make everyone laugh.

“And you’re so talented, especially in news, I think anyone who watches you knows that,” he said.
Riley made sure to note how supported he felt in his career and other aspects of his life, telling Cordelia, “You’re the main reason I’m still in news today.”
And because of that, their news studio was the only place he wanted to ask such an important question. He then moved closer to her in the studio and kneeled in front of her while she remained sitting at her desk.
The couple were both holding back tears as Riley asked: “Would you marry me?”
Cornelia immediately replied, telling Riley yes, and he put the ring on her finger while they both admitted they were shaking.
After exchanging I love you’s, the couple celebrated their on-air proposal with a kiss and sweet hug.
As the sweet proposal clip quickly went viral, Cornelia responded to it on TikTok, writing, “Still at a loss for words, Riley Nagel hid this so well. I am so excited for our future together.”
