Game of Thrones prequel series House of the Dragon has been keeping viewers gripped with its twists and turns involving the Targaryen line of succession.

The HBO show hits its half-way mark this week with a cast shake-up coming and viewers soon bidding farewell to some of the cast members they have grown to know and love.

What time is House of the Dragon episode 5 released?

The time House of the Dragon is released will vary depending on your geographic location but the show is going to be pretty much simulcast around the world.

House of the Dragon follows the broadcast schedule of its predecessor Game of Thrones with weekly drops rather than a mass boxset, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.

Episode five will be airing on HBO in America on Sunday, September 18 at 9pm Eastern Standard Time.

This is 6pm Pacific Standard Time on the west coast of North America.

House of the Dragon is simulcast in the UK, so British fans can watch the show at exactly the same time as their American counterparts.

In the UK, Sky Atlantic is the British broadcaster for House of the Dragon and will be airing the episode at 2am British Summer Time on Monday September 19.

For those who can’t stay up until the early hours of the morning to watch it, Sky Atlantic will be repeating the episode at 9pm on the same day.

To watch the show, you will need a Sky Subscription or alternately a subscription to the streaming platform NOW.

Through NOW, you can watch House of the Dragon – either by live streaming at 2am or 9pm.

Alternatively, you can watch the show on catch up once House of the Dragon has been initially broadcast, which means you can view the episode at any time you can.

NOW also allows you to download content, which means you can watch the show offline and on the go.

Along with geography playing part on the time House of the Dragon episode five will be dropping, the broadcaster will also vary depending on where you are.

For instance, in Canada, you can watch episode five on Sunday 18 at 9pm on the channel Crave, while in Latin America audience can view it on HBO Max at the same time.

Fans from Spain and across Scandinavia – Finland, Norway, Denmark, and Sweden – can all watch episode five from September 19 at 3am on HBO Max.

But those in Portugal, the show will be available on September 19 at 2am on HBO Max.

If you are watching in Italy, House of the Dragon is available on Sky Italy on September 19 at 4am.

Similarly in the Middle East, House of the Dragon is available on September 19 at 5am on the local broadcaster OSN, while in Israel, the show will be on the same day at 4am on Cellcom.

Across in Asia, Japan will be airing House of the Dragon on September 19 at 10am in the morning but Singapore airs it on HBO Asia at 9pm.

Finally, fans in Australia can watch the show on Foxtel or the streaming service BINGE on Monday, September 19 at 11am Australian Standard Time.

Fans in New Zealand need to head to broadcaster SoHo at 1pm on September 19 to watch the show.

House of the Dragon airs on HBO on Sundays and Sky Atlantic on Mondays and streams on NOW
