Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) decided to swallow his pride and focus on his future with Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) in Emmerdale.
He is currently in hospital following a heart attack in the village. The ordeal occurred after he punched Liam (Jonny McPherson) in the face in an act of revenge after he had an affair with Wendy.
He then collapsed to the floor and in the hospital, revealed to Wendy that he has erectile dysfunction.
He said it had been concerning him for some time, but he hadn’t mentioned it to Wendy because he didn’t want her treating him like a patient.
Bob felt insecure about the situation and thought that Wendy had been driven into Liam’s arms because he wasn’t comfortable with the idea of having sex.

Initially, Bob pushed Wendy away even more and said that they wouldn’t be getting back together, believing that the nurse would make him her ‘project’ now that she knows the truth.
Tonight, however, things began to change.
During a chat with Eric (Chris Chittell), Bob discovered that Wendy was planning on leaving the Dales to spend time with Luke, her son, who lives in London.
Eric questioned Bob’s decision and wondered why he was letting Wendy go, pointing out that confronting his problems and getting back with her would leave him with a bigger chance at a happy future.
Bob agreed with Eric and later spoke to Wendy. He said that he had been projecting his anger towards the erectile dysfunction onto the affair, and thought the issue meant he wasn’t a ‘proper man’.
Ultimately, Bob said that he didn’t want to break up with Wendy and she was relieved. She said that she’ll wait for him regarding the sex and most certainly won’t make him her ‘project’ or spend time feeling sorry for him.
Order has been restored for Wendy and Bob, at last.
