STAR Jones has made a major career move after she was fired from The View in 2006.

The ABC show has left fans preparing for yet another cast mix-up after losing Republican panelist Meghan McCain in July of 2021.

But long before, Star Jones, 60, was one of the original co-hosts of the daytime talk show.

The lawyer joined The View at the beginning in 1997 and stayed until she was cut from the cast in 2006, right before the 10th season.

At the time, the TV star released a statement to PEOPLE, reading: “My time at The View was one of the great opportunities of my lifetime. Of course there were conflicts over the years, however I will forever consider Barbara Walters (along with my dear friend, the late Johnny Cochran) to be one of my two most influential mentors.

"The opportunity to sit beside her for so many years was a ‘master class’ in many aspects of my personal and professional life that I relish and am eternally grateful for."

HARD-HITTING CAREER

Prior to Star's stint on The View, her television career began when she was recruited by Court TV in 1991 as a commentator on the William Kennedy Smith trial and later promoted to the senior assistant district attorney in 1992.

The reporter then worked as a legal correspondent for NBC's Today Show and Nightly News programs, making way for countless appearances as a correspondent, host, commentator, and advocate on NBC, MSNBC, CNN, and more.

By 1994, Star had landed a starring role on her own court show, Jones & Jury, making history as the first Black woman to serve as an on-screen arbitrator.

The series was short-lived though and was canceled after only one season.

TAKING OVER

Now, Star has finally revealed her return to daytime TV as she is slated to replace Faith Jenkins as the judge on Divorce Court.

With a September start date, the North Carolina native will take over as the new host and judge for the longest-running court show in history.

"Before I was the legal correspondent for NBC News covering high-profile trials and conducting exclusive jailhouse interviews, I spent six years in a Brooklyn courtroom as a NYC homicide prosecutor and assistant district attorney.

"Since the beginning of my TV career, it's been my mission to serve as a voice for the voiceless; and after more than 30 consecutive years on television and in people's homes, that remains true," she said of her new role.

Divorce Court has had three runs in syndication, the first from 1957 to 1969, again from 1985 to 1992, and the current rendition since 1999.

Star has been selected as the fourth judge since the show's return in the late 90s.

STAR'S SECRET

The television personality's time on The View ended in scandal when rumors of her plan to get gastric bypass surgery hit mainstream media.

The author had planned to go public with the decision in 2007 but blamed her The View co-hosts Barbara Walters and Joy Behar for first outing the news, claiming they wanted to dismantle her image.
