Shetland is back on BBC One on Wednesday and season seven promises to see Jimmy Perez go out with a bang. The pea coat-wearing detective will be stepping down after Douglas Henshall decided his character arc had come to an end. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about where to watch the first six seasons.

Where to watch all seasons of Shetland

In the upcoming season of Shetland, Jimmy investigates the disappearance of a vulnerable son.

When he discovers why the son’s family moved towns in the first place, the story takes a twisted turn.

Douglas Henshall said he wanted to move on to pastures new as Jimmy’s story arc had reached a natural conclusion.

The star said he was excited to see his character go out in style in another successful outing.

In the meantime, there are a number of ways fans can catch up with all the seasons.

The series is available to watch on BritBox, which offers a seven-day free trial.

The streaming service offers series from the BBC and ITV and can be accessed in the US and UK.

The monthly fee is £5.99 a month or £59.99 a year and $6.99 per month or $69.99 for the full year for US viewers.

BritBox can also be accessed via Prime Video.

If it’s just season six fans are after, they can watch the most recent six episodes on BBC iPlayer.

Like the previous seasons, there will be six episodes in Douglas’s final series.

At this moment in time, no replacement for Perez has been revealed.

The star said he was not sure what his next project would be, but he would like to play an antagonist.

He did say he would love to return to Shetland’s stunning filming location.

He is looking forward to showing his family all of the iconic landmarks.
