Coronation Street fans were left scratching their heads while watching Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) in a recent episode of the ITV soap.

The beloved character was in the kitchen at her home, chatting to Stu (Bill Fellows) about Yasmeen’s (Shelley King) return from Pakistan.

Stu decided to cook for Yasmeen, prompting Alya to have a taste of the creation…and that is where things took a really bizarre turn.

Alya decided to scoop some of the tomato sauce onto a wooden spoon, and then transfer it onto tablespoon before she tried it.

The puzzling move was picked up by many Corrie fans, who all wanted to know Alya’s thought process.

Given this scene has got us all talking, it could well have the potential to go as viral as that moment where Nigella Lawson pronounced microwave as mee-kro-waveé.

One thing is for certain, Alya shouldn’t give up the day job!

Elsewhere, next week in Coronation Street will see the downfall of Stephen Reid (Todd Boyce).

After murdering three people, Stephen will plan to run away to Thailand, but will the police – or someone else entirely – get to him before he can leave?
