Coronation Street star Kyran Bowes is set to return to his role as Jack Webster on the ITV soap after taking an extended break to focus on his studies.
He has not been seen on screen since Christmas 2022, but is set to appear again in the coming days.
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, actor Kyran shared a photo of himself covered in confetti, following his successful GCSE results.
‘Hy all. Sorry for the absence. I took some time away to concentrate on my studies,’ he explained.
‘Happy to say I’m back and even happier to say I passed my GCSES. Hard work and perseverance really does pay off. Now it’s time to celebrate.’
‘Big congratulations Kyran. Amazing what can be achieved when ya put your mind to it,’ one wrote.
‘Massive Congratulations to you,’ another said.
‘Congratulations to you and yes hard work and patience does pay off,’ a third added.
Kyran has played the role of Jack since 2016, and has been involved in some big storylines, including one which saw Jack develop sepsis after cutting his knee while playing football.
This storyline had an important real life affect, as it helped one mother spot the symptoms of sepsis in her daughter, which may have saved her life.
In the show, Jack’s body didn’t react as well to antibiotics as doctors had hoped, and they were eventually forced to amputate his lower leg.
In order to portray this on screen, Coronation Street used green-screen technology to digitally erase the lower part of Jack’s leg.
