According to multiple reports, ‘The Bachelorette’ season 19 contestant, who is vying for Rachel Recchia’s heart, is most likely to take the role in the upcoming season 27 of ‘The Bachelor’.
AceShowbiz -“The Bachelorette” season 19 still has one episode left, but ABC reportedly has been gearing up to announce the next leading man on “The Bachelor“. According to multiple reports, “The Bachelorette” season 19 contestant Zach Shallcross is most likely to be the new “Bachelor”.
A source close to production tells Page Six, “He’s been a frontrunner for a while.” The source continues, “There’s no denying that the audience loves him.”
Meanwhile, Variety reports that the 26-year-old tech exec is expected to be announced as the season 27 lead soon. He reportedly will be officially introduced as the next “Bachelor” in next week’s season finale of “The Bachelorette”, during “After the Final Rose” on Tuesday, September 20.
Zach competed for Rachel Recchia‘s heart in the current season of “The Bachelorette”, which also stars Gabby Windey. He made it to Fantasy Suites week in Mexico before things went south. The Anaheim Hills, Calif., native revealed that Rachel, who is just a year older than Zach, considered dumping him over his age during a conversation that occurred off-camera. “Rachel brought up her fear that maybe I’m not ready for a commitment of marriage at this early of an age,” he said.
“I’m like, ‘Don’t worry about that. I’m here for you,’ ” he continued. “But she got really adamant. I’m like … ‘Are you making me second-guess?’ It was a surprise. It was like we were two strangers.” Zach and Rachel eventually decided to call it quits with him going home prior to the Rose Ceremony in this week’s episode.
Blogger Reality Steve also noted on Wednesday, September 14 that Zach has been tapped to be the next “Bachelor”. “As we know plans can always change last minute…but I feel confident in reporting that the next Bachelor is going to be Zach Shallcross,” so he tweeted.
Season 27 of “The Bachelor” will likely premiere in early 2023.
