Zeedan (Qasim Akhtar) and Alya Nazir (Sair Khan) have decided to request access to Stu Carpenter’s (Bill Fellows) police files in Coronation Street, determined to find evidence that confirms he did not murder Charlie Walter.
Initially, Zeedan and Alya believed that Stu was guilty of the horrific crime and were both determined to protect Yasmeen (Shelley King), who has been reminded of her past with Geoff Metcalfe in the aftermath.
However, this week, during a visit to Stu, everything changed for Zeedan.
Behind bars after breaching the peace, Stu told Zeedan that he had requested access to his files a while ago and made his new friend question why he’d do that if he was guilty.
With Stu’s words in mind, Zeedan met up with Adam (Sam Robertson) and he confirmed insight into the investigation is possible, but it will cost – a lot.
Unable to get the funds himself, Zeedan turned to Alya, who returned tonight after a holiday.
Fortunately, Alya decided to go halves with Zeedan and returned to the solicitor’s office, even managing to make a deal with Adam for extra help in return of a free meal at Speed Daal.
If only life was that easy, huh?
Adam warned the siblings that this journey will not be an easy one. They will have to read countless bits of paper, view photos of Charlie’s dead body and in the end, they might not even conclude Stu is innocent after all.
Let’s just hope he is.
