‘Sort it out Sadiq or you will have blood on your hands’: TV star demands London Mayor takes action after TWO videos in 24 hours showing thugs mugging helpless victims on London’s streets
- BBC TV star Shabs Ahmad warns Sadiq Khan to address the capital’s crime wave
- Follows armed thieves who held woman at knifepoint trying to ‘steal her watch’
- The shocking attack took place in Pond Place, in upmarket Chelsea on Monday
- Woman is seen in clip laying in a doorway and screaming as thug tries to rob her
TV star Shabs Ahmad has warned Sadiq Khan that he will have ‘blood on’ his ‘hands’ if he does not step in to address the wave of violent crime continuing to hit London.
Mr Ahmad, who starred in the BBC’s hit show Supercar Superfam, made the remark after a man and woman were robbed at knifepoint in broad daylight while they were walking through an upmarket borough of central London.
It is the latest in a spate of attacks to shock the lawless capital this summer.
Video footage taken on Monday shows the female victim lying in a doorway in Pond Place, Chelsea while kicking her legs as an attacker donning a black balaclava and hoodie stands over her.
Her screams billow down the street as a second attacker, also in a black hoodie, repeatedly punches her male companion just yards away.
Responding to the footage that was shared on Instagram, the BBC documentary star addressed the Mayor in a comment on the social media site.
He said: ‘Sadiq Khan are you seeing this s*** mate? And you’re too busy expanding the ULEZ?
‘Sort it out. Like I said before, you will have blood on your hands.
‘This guy could have very easily been stabbed.’
BBC TV star Shabs Ahmad warned London Mayor Sadiq Khan to ‘sort out’ the rate of violent crime in London, claiming the man in the video ‘could have easily been stabbed’
He went on to add: ‘All I’m saying is I think we all need to be ready for them cos ain’t nobody taking my s***.’
The Met Police said no arrest have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
This evening Ch Supt Owain Richards, Central West Command Unit, said: ‘This is an appalling incident; no-one should be subjected to such unacceptable violence.
‘Our dedicated Robbery team are investigating and trawling CCTV.
‘We have seen a rise in watch robberies, and are focusing our resources in the hot spots.’
Police are aware of footage on social media. Any witnesses or those with information that could help police should call 101 ref CAD 3968/22 Aug.

The shocking incident came just hours after a brazen thief disguised as a Deliveroo driver smashed a £3million Bugatti Chiron with a hammer in a bid to steal a Kuwaiti playboy’s Rolex as he drove through the capital on Sunday.
And on Saturday, a brawl in south London saw at least four people stabbed, as pressure mounts on Mayor Sadiq Khan to better tackle the scourge of knife crime, which has surged over the past year as the UK exited the Covid pandemic.

Social media users react to the latest knife incident in central London, with some blaming mayor Sadiq Khan, and others the Tories and even the cost of living crisis.
Royal Biographer Omid Scobie said: ‘Another day, another watch mugging in London (call the Met Police if you have info about this Knightsbridge incident).
‘Sadiq Khan doing f*** all as criminals continue to take over city.
‘After recently getting jumped in Mayfair, I’ll never wear a watch out again and suggest you do same.’
In response to the video, Royal biographer Omid Scobie spoke of his own experience of getting ‘jumped’ by someone trying to steal his watch while he was in Mayfair

Sadiq Khan blames, weather, austerity and cost-of-living crisis for violent crime plaguing London
Sadiq Khan has blamed the weather, austerity cuts and the cost-of-living crisis for knife and violent crime that has plagued London in recent years.
He said in a statement last week: ‘One homicide is a homicide too many, and one victim of crime is one victim of crime too many, but I feel like over the last six years I’ve had one hand tied behind my back because of austerity.
‘We’ve lost 21,000 officers, the Government has now said it will replace them with 20,000 officers when our population has gone up.
‘We’ve had cuts in youth workers, in youth services, in after-school clubs, in services councils provide because of the choice made by the government and it is Londoners who are caught in the crossfire.’
Speaking to LBC radio last Thursday, the mayor pointed to ‘longer daylight hours, school holidays, a heatwave’ and the cost of living crisis after six killings took place in the city in less than a week.
Addressing the surge in violence, he told the radio channel: ‘We have seen over the last few days, the last week, a number of awful homicides.
‘I’m afraid this summer we are seeing what we feared, which is an increase in violent crime… there are longer daylight hours, school holidays, a heatwave and so forth.
‘We are working with the police to suppress that violence.’
Mr Khan was adamant that the capital is a safe place. He said gun crime, knife crime, knife injury, those injured by knives under the age of 25, moped crime and burglary are all down on last year, and ‘teenage homicides are down by more than 68%’.
Mr Khan added: ‘That’s no consolation though if you’re the victim of crime or a bereaved family which is why I’m determined to make sure that we make more progress as well.’
An elderly man can be seen watching on in disbelief before the witness recording the clip from an upstairs window twice shouts: ‘Let go otherwise I’ll call the police.’
An elderly woman is then seen suddenly arriving to the scene with a broom, before using it to bash the getaway car as the assailants jump in and flee.
The male victim tries in vain to open the front side door.
The person filming then yells: ‘We got your number plate,’ as the clip comes to an end. The video has been viewed more than 500,000 times.
MailOnline has contacted the Metropolitan Police for comment.
Users flocked to the comments below the video to share their reaction to the ordeal, with many ‘blaming’ the Mayor of London for the recent spate of violent crimes.
‘Khan’s London,’ one person commented, while another said: ‘Welcome to London – thanks to @mayorofLondon the crime capital of Europe.’
Another person added: ‘@sadiqkhan this is your London what you doing about it…’ [sic].
Others suggested it was police cuts that have caused a spike in stabbings.
One declared: ‘This is nothing to do with bloody Sadiq Khan. It’s to do with Tory government cutting the budget for policing for over a decade now.’
Others blamed the cost-of-living crisis, arguing that more people are turning to crime after finding themselves in desperate situations.
It comes after harrowing footage taken on Sunday showed the moment a thief dressed as a Deliveroo rider smashed a £3million Bugatti Chiron with a hammer in a bid to steal a Kuwaiti playboy’s Rolex.
Abdullah F. Al Basman, known for posting photos of his sports cars and bling, was targeted while driving in central London as he wore a Platinum Rolex Daytona watch, worth £110,000.
Video shows a rider wearing a Deliveroo uniform stopping in traffic and smashing the Bugatti Chiron’s window with a hammer on Park Lane near Hyde Park Corner, Mayfair on Sunday.
They then appear to hit the car several times before the hypercar drives off quickly and the thief fails to make off with any valuables.
Another rider – also in a Deliveroo outfit – drives alongside the thief as they flee the scene.
Met Police believe this incident could be linked to the assault of another man in his 40s who had his watch stolen in Mayfair on the same day.
After the attempted theft, Mr Al Basman can be seen being helped out of his smashed up sports car.
It is believed that the Kuwait playboy, who was staying at the Berkeley Hotel, was targeted after posting pictures of his supercars and expensive watches on social media.
A witness said: ‘The moped thieves were at the hotel this morning and staff told them to get off the pavement.
‘When Abdullah left in the Bugatti they started following him all the way to Hyde Park Corner. One beeped their horn which I assume was the signal to start attacking.
‘I assume they were waiting for a junction they knew would have a long red light so they had time to attack them.’
London saw four victims knifed across the capital in just two days earlier this month
The thief is shown in footage driving away in Mayfair, London after speeding away
Other footage on social media also shows what may be the same riders also riding on pavements in Mayfair
A Met Police spokesman in a statement: ‘Police are investigating a report of a robbery that is alleged to have occurred in Curzon Street, Mayfair, at approximately 16:50hrs on Sunday, 21 August.
‘A man aged in his 40s reported being assaulted by two men who stole his watch. Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and the man was treated for injuries at the scene. He did not require hospital treatment.
‘We are also aware of video appearing to show an attempted robbery nearby on Park Lane at around the same time of the incident. The incidents are believed to be linked, however enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
‘Anyone with further information is asked to call 101 quoting CAD 5109/21Aug. To remain anonymous contact the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. No arrests have been made.’
