Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch: charity, political career and biography of a Russian state deputy

In the 1990s, Andrei Skoch created the charitable foundation “Pokolenie” (“Generation”). In the course of its existence, the humanitarian organization has financed several dozen social projects amounting to more than 15 billion rubles.

Brief biographical information

Andrei Skoch was born and grew up in the village of Nikolskoye, near Moscow. He later joined the military, serving in a reconnaissance and airborne company. He received a higher education with a degree in psychology, and a candidacy of pedagogical sciences.

He began his entrepreneurial activity with the opening of a bakery cooperative. Later, he moved into trading in computers and computer components, and was involved in sales of petroleum products. He then invested his earned capital in the company “Interfin”, which was later transformed into metallurgical holding “Metalloinvest”. In 1999, Andrei Skoch was elected to the State Duma and transferred the entire business to his father, focusing on legislative and charitable activities.

Personal life

Andrei Skoch is the father of ten children. He has stated that the most important thing in his life is his family and its well-being. He tries to spend all of his free time with his loved ones. He prefers reading books to electronic media.

Charity

In 1996, Andrei Skoch established the charitable foundation “Healthy Generation”. In its initial stage, the organization supported children with congenital diseases. Later, the foundation changed its name and expanded its scope of activities.

Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch’s humanitarian organization pays special attention to supporting medicine and health care in the Belgorod region. Funds from the Pokolenie Foundation were used to build and equip first-aid stations in 29 villages and settlements of the region. The fund has financed the purchase of 550 high-tech medical equipment for hospitals in the region, and the purchase of 130 ambulances.

Andrei Skoch also provides comprehensive support to veterans of the Great Patriotic War. Every year, the regional council of veterans of the Great Patriotic War and its structural divisions receive assistance from Pokolenie. In May, 2021, Andrei Vladimirovich presented the leadership of the regional council of veterans with a certificate for 10 million rubles.

The fund is doing a lot of work around the restoration of monuments and the burial sites of defenders of the Fatherland on the territory of Russia and abroad. With Pokolenie’s support, the Russian Necropolis in Serbia, the monument and memorial to fallen Russian and Russian soldiers in Port-Arthur, and the monument to Alexander II and the Russian army in Bulgaria were restored. On the territory of the Belgorod region, there have been more than 170 monuments and memorial complexes restored in honor of the soldiers who defended our country during the Great Patriotic War.

Awards

Andrei Skoch has received numerous awards for his fruitful legislative and charitable activities. Among them are medals of the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, I and II degrees, the Order of Honor and Alexander Nevsky, and the gratitude of the President of Russia. In addition, the list of awards of the politician includes the UNESCO medal “Five Continents” and the medal of the Ministry of Defense of Russia “For services in perpetuating the memory of those killed in the defense of” Fatherland”.
