SNOW continues to fall across the UK, meaning hundreds of schools are unable to cope with the extreme weather.
But is your child's school still open today and how do you know if it's closed? Here's what we know.
Are UK schools open today?
Parents will need to check whether their child's school is open before setting off on the school run this morning (December 12,2022).
Forecasters have said the country will be hit with snow, fog and ice today in a -10C freeze and have urged motorists to hazard caution.
It is expected that dozens of schools across the country will be completely closed in on Monday – while more are expected to have later starts.
One reason is due to the school's heating needing to reach a minimum of 18C.

Live updates as snow sees UK schools CLOSE today amid travel chaos and disruption
Can you get time off work if your child’s school is closed due to snow?
If it is too cold outside and the school classrooms can't retain that temperature, the school will be forced to close.
However, there's no guarantee of a day off school because of the snowy weather.
You can check if your child's school is closed on the Department of Education website.
Just insert your postcode of your child's school into the search bar and the website will let you know its closure status.
