Bizarre twist as mum who was ISIS-loving extremist becomes TikTok 'influencer' sharing her 'mindset for success' | The Sun

A MUM who was jailed for joining ISIS and posing with guns looks to be rebranding as a TikTok influencer.

Tareena Shakil became the first British woman to be locked up after fleeing to Syria to be part of the murderous cult.

Now, she has taken to social media, where she has thousands of followers, and is sharing her "mindset" for success.

Tareena was sentenced to six years behind bars in 2016.

But the mum, who earned the nickname the Towie jihadi for her love of reality TV shows, was freed after less than three years.

Earlier this year she took to Instagram under the name 'That Girl Tam Tam' and appeared to be trying to make it big as an influencer.

Now that profile is private – but she's taken to TikTok.

The mum has almost 4,000 followers and has racked up almost 100,000 likes on her clips.

One of the more recent ones shared to her page That Girl Tam Tam offered advice on success.

The video read: "I will get everything I've ever wanted.

In April this year Tareena's Instagram was filled with selfies posted with the hashtags 'fashion blogger' and 'style', while other photos show her posing outside Dior and Givenchy.

The page was also scattered with snaps tagged in hotspots like Morocco, Milan, Amsterdam and coastal Albania.

On the Instagram the mum had hundreds of followers, and has tagged the likes of fashion brands Bershka and Versace in what appears to be a bid to get them on board.

Other glam pics show her posing with her British passport, Louis Vuitton bag and Valentino shoes.

Despite all this, Tareena denied she was trying to make it big on social media – and that account is now private.

She described her de-radicalisation as “a long journey”.

I will get everything I've ever wanted. Not because I'm lucky but because I don't quit, I explore all options and failure doesn't scare me

The Mirror reported she said: “I’ve learned from my mistakes and have served my punishment.

“I don’t seek to be an influencer or blogger, I seek to show people you can make it through hard times even when it may seem impossible.”

Tareena was jailed after a judge found she had intentionally travelled to the war-torn region of Syria to join ISIS.

She had told her family she was going on holiday to Turkey but instead secretly went to Raqqa after taking out a student loan in 2014.

Once there, the mum even boasted of joining the terrifying Islamic State, posing with weapons – with one picture even showing her toddler son in an ISIS hat.

She ultimately returned to the UK after apparently telling an IS minder she had to go visit her husband, who didn't exist.

The mum then got a taxi to take her close to Turkey – running across a field to safety.

Returning to England, Tareena was found guilty of encouraging acts of terrorism on social media and being a member of Islamic State, jailed for six years.

The judge found she had intentionally travelled to the war-torn region to "produce the next generation of fighters".
